Inktide
Inktide is a free browser game about drawing a border and holding it: up to twenty players, one map, five minutes a match.
Take ground, hold it
The land you hold makes soldiers, and soldiers take more land. Tap a neighbour or an empty stretch of ground and your army marches at it; a dial decides how much of it goes, because sending everything wins the fight in front of you and leaves nothing anywhere else.
Coins build cities, mines, factories and ports. Boats carry an army across water, so an island is a strong position and never a safe one. Alliances can be made with anybody and broken by either side at any moment. When the five minutes are up, whoever holds the most ground wins.
In a tab, with friends or strangers
There is nothing to install and no account to make: opening the page puts you one tap from a lobby, on a phone or a computer. Play with friends gives you a link, and whoever opens it lands in your room.
The Daily Tide is one map everybody plays on the same day, and a finished match can be watched back as a replay from its end screen.
Fair by design
There is no pay-to-win and no paid random items: what can be bought changes how your territory looks, never how it fights. Empty seats are filled with bots so a match always starts, and the results say which rows were bots.
The map is abstract on purpose. Its coastlines and terrain come from real map data, but it has no country names, no national borders and no flags.
